Awakening the Frozen Addicts (Documentary) – An account of a medical mystery that occurred in California in 1982 when a group of illicit drug users exhibited the symptoms of advanced Parkinson’s disease after inadvertently taking heroine contaminated with the toxic chemical MPTP. This tragic event led to important discoveries about Parkinson’s disease, including the controversial use of transplanted foetal brain cells to relieve the symptoms.
