don’t wanna go to rehab?

Question by flowerchild0101: don’t wanna go to rehab?
I have another question regarding a codeine addiction I have. I didn’t seriously consider quitting until a few weeks ago…hence my previous post. Before I considered quitting I was at the worst point in my addiction…200mg every day. I’ve been working at slowly tapering off…I tried cold turkey for a week and the withdrawl was awful, I couldn’t work six days a week in that condition. So I’m now doing it every other day on a lower dosage, decreasing the dosage every week. I plan to eventually be off it completely. I went to my family doctor today and had a talk with him. He wants me to go to detox. I would be at least two weeks. I really don’t want to….do you think its possible to go off the stuff on my own? I’ve been going to counselling and n/a meetings.

I think at this point you really need some additional help-detox. Atleast you realize you have a problem thats the first step. I will be praying for you.

Well I am not a professional and you should definately seek professional medical help regarding your sitituation. Try it out and go. What is the worst that can happen. It does not hurt. If you like it, great continue with it! If you absolutely dont like it, stop and ask the doctor if any other options.
